On March 14, 2019, the awarding ceremony of Semi-solid Processing Committee of China Foundry Association was held at Shanghai New International Expo Center. Professor Zhu Qiang was elected as the first rotating chairman of Semi-solid Processing Committee and accepted the award from China Foundry Association on behalf of the committee.

Semi-solid Processing Committee of China Foundry Association is composed of enterprises and institutions engaged in the research, development, production, service and application of the semi-solid materials, processes, equipment and components. The aim of this committee is to realize mutually complementary and beneficial partnership and common development between enterprises and participants of relevant upstream and downstream market through the establishment of a coordinated and unified committee system with enterprises as the main body, market as the guidance, integration of production, teaching, research and practice, connection of industry, trade and technology. Through the self-discipline and standardized management of the participants, the committee strengthens the comprehensive application of semi-solid technology, assisting the government in advocating and promoting semi-solid technology, enhancing the overall competitiveness of China's semi-solid industry and promoting the healthy and orderly market of semi-solid industries and helping the casting industry develop at high quality.
Professor Zhu Qiang has been engaged in the research of semi-solid processing theory and technology for a long time. As the person in charge, he has undertaken International Science and Technology Program of China, National Science and Technology Support Program, National Key Research and Development Program of China and other related programs. He has established Beijing Metal Advanced Forming Manufacturing Engineering Technology Research Center and Shenzhen Peacock Team as the leader. Professor Zhu served as the chairman of the 15th International Semi-solid Processing Conference for Alloys and Composites and he was awarded the “Outstanding Contribution Award” by International Semi-Solid Processing Academic Committee.
Dr. Lu Hongxing was elected as Deputy Secretary General of Semi-solid Processing Committee of China Foundry Association at the same time.
