On October 29, Guo Yurong, Chairperson of University Council, extended here warm welcome to the guests and expressed her expectations on valuable suggestions on "Innovative Talent Selection and Cultivation" and SUSTech's development.
The Innovative Development Symposium held in the morning of October 30 culminated the seminar. Besides the over 120 high school presidents and experts,President Chen Shiyi, Vice-Chairperson of University Council Li Fengliang, Vice-President Wu Chuanyue, special guests, Sheng Yuhai, Vice Provost of Peking University and Party secretary to the Affiliated High School of Perking University and the directors of various faculties of SUSTech were also present at the Symposium presided over by SUSTech Vice Provost Huang Kefu.
Before the start of the Symposium, all the attendees watched a short film - Learning, for Seeking Knowledge, which is the reflection of the freshmen in SUSTech.

Chen Shiyi's speech
Chen Shiyi made a report titled Advance to Excellence, emphasizing SUSTech's positioning, mission, system, orientation, strategies and latest achievements in academic development, talent introduction, student enrolment reform, scientific research, technological application, international management, school construction, etc.
Wu Chuanyue's speech
Wu Chuanyue made a report on the innovative cultivation report, clarifying SUSTech's features, model and results in innovative talent cultivation from the aspects of "credit system, collegiate system and tutorial system" and "internationalization, individuality and elitism".
Sheng Yuhai's speech
Sheng Yuhai gave a vivid talk on his experience on innovative talents selection and cultivation. He believed that the college students are facing a common problem: lack of individuality and innovation. Since a series of modern universities like SUSTech are leading the reform for the selection of college talents, which deserve to be constantly focused by educators for secondary education. The secondary schools should work with universities to promote the selection and cultivation of innovative talents.

During the seminar, the guests stepped on the top of Lianhua Hill to present a flower basket to the statue of Xiaoping Deng; paid a site visit to DJI and UBTECH to experience the charm of technical innovation; mad group discussions to achieve deep exchanges on the concept, methods and experience in innovative talents selection and cultivation; and held a general knowledge of the current development of SUSTech and out laboratories. Meanwhile, the guests also held a conversation with over 300 students, whose excellent performance in English expression, scientific researches, behaviors and school recognition gave a deep impression to them.
"Viewing from the extraordinary experience in the seminar, SUSTech's growth is beyond our expectation." All the guests delivered their wish that more students could enter SUSTech to find and achieve their life goals.
